About the authors
Enid Blyton is one of the most popular children's authors of all time. Her books have sold over 500 million copies and have been translated into other languages more often than any other children's author.
Enid Blyton adored writing for children. She wrote over 700 books and about 2,000 short stories. The Famous Five books, now 75 years old, are her most popular. She is also the author of other favourites including The Secret Seven, The Magic Faraway Tree, Malory Towers and Noddy.
Born in London in 1897, Enid lived much of her life in Buckinghamshire and loved dogs, gardening and the countryside. She was very knowledgeable about trees, flowers, birds and animals. Dorset - where some of the Famous Five's adventures are set - was a favourite place of hers too.
Enid Blyton's stories are read and loved by millions of children (and grown-ups) all over the world. Visit enidblyton.co.uk to discover more.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2025Great set of books! I am pleased!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 25, 2020I loved these books as a child growing up in the UK. I found one locally so I gave it to my 8 YO granddaughter to read. She loved it! I bought her the set for her birthday. So far she has finished seven of them! She loves them. Next ones will be Secret Seven. ❤️

- Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2015I wanted my
Child to enjoy these like I did when I was young. As a product of an English mum it's sometimes hard to find cool English staples in the U.S. But this is perfect. Not exactly the same illustrations I recall in my old books- but at least not the terrible new NEW ones. Nice sketched simple and my daughter is loving owning her own set - now on to look for the secret seven series!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 31, 2013Author has been a favorite of our family for generations and can be very difficult to replace. This set came not only very quickly from very far, but in excellent condition. The Famous Five series is a wonderful collection for young readers and once read you will be "hooked" for life and will revisit for many years. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend the series, the author and the seller.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 19, 2016These books were my childhood and now I can gift them to my eight year old who loves to read as well. Amazing price for this collection, I am SUPER happy!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 18, 2021It is quite fun to read
- Reviewed in the United States on April 22, 2016These books are fun to read but the children are a little course in their playful banter. "You're an idiot" is commonly used in their kidding around. After about the first 5 books you can predict the plot of the rest of the books. There are elements common to all the stories: mean, bad guys, caves, treasure (who doesn't like that), sometimes castles and dungeons, a poor ragamuffin child, and other things. Sometimes the kids are disrespectful to the bad adults but they are always respectful of the police and good adults. The series is a mix of good and bad but mostly, if your children have been properly taught, they will know when something is not as it should be. I recommend this series, with a grain of salt.

5.0 out of 5 stars A childhood favorite! Reliving the childhood happiness!
I read these books as a kid in the 1990s - and was so delighted to find the entire set at a fantastic price to give to our daughter. Our daughter is six years old and while she takes time to read it and asks us the meaning of several words and phrases, she enjoys the characters, their idiosyncrasies, the plot, the setting and the many adventures the kids have. I am so happy that she can find the joy in these stories that I once did when I was her age.

5.0 out of 5 stars Teenagers would love to read them
Enid Blyton is one of my very favorite authors. Even now at the age of 55 I'm purchasing these to re-read them and leave a legacy of age old books for my grandchildren. The language in these books is simple and children who have inculcated the habit of reading would love these books. The style of writing and the mysteries involved in each one of these books would make our children also want to be like the characters in the stories.
